It takes a courageous person to be willing to ask tough questions in the pursuit of truth. What does it mean if we can't question people, victims included, even if it makes one feel uncomfortable? Are we so afraid of asking simple questions that we are willing to sacrifice seeking facts and truth? I hope not.

The narrative about DOS promoted by the mainstream media and government tells a tale along the lines of an unrealistic children’s story. There are good guys and bad guys. The good guys are innocent victims who were abused. The bad guys are crafty villains that have put the good guys “under a spell” (although the narrative prefers the term “brainwashing.”)

Despite all the testimony from alleged victims in documentaries about NXIVM and a six-week criminal trial, not a single woman has claimed they were actually threatened with the release of collateral.

The role society has cast for us is either that of hapless, unwitting victims who need to be saved from our own choices OR we are seen by the general public as "brainwashed" followers who can't think for ourselves and who are complicit in heinous crimes. Neither is accurate.

There is a big problem in today’s society. We have become a culture that celebrates and rewards victims without question. The victim stance has become a powerful way to gain sympathy and attention, sometimes even to avoid accountability.
